About the office of Accountant General (A&E), Uttarakhand

The Office of the  Accountant General (A&E), Uttarakhand performs the accounting and entitlement functions in respect of the transactions of the State of Uttarakahand. It came into existence on 9th May 2002.

The Accountant General maintains the accounts of the State Government on the basis of inputs received from the State Treasuries. The work of the preparation of Appropriation and Finance Accounts of the State lies with the office of the Accountant General (A&E), Uttarakhand along with the maintenance of General Provident Fund accounts of 98,430 subscribers, who are employees of the State Government. The office is also entrusted with the responsibility of maintenance of Works Accounts related to various Engineering Departments of the State (Public Works Department, Minor Irrigation and Rural Engineering Services) along with the compilation of accounts of the Forest Divisions of the Forest Department of Uttarakhand.
